question 1 sci-fi

Sci-fi assessment

Question 1- I believe that these elements are what make sci-fi films so successful because they bring a sense of awe usually at the scale of some sets such as this in Prometheus this use of massive sets and these films give us a sense of wonder of what is “out there” it can play on people’s emotions a good film example would be the reboot of the star trek movie with two movies:Star Trek and Star Trek-into darkness which together grossed $486,460,331 as of the 6th of September 2013 and into darkness grossed over 70 million with the story of: After the crew of the Enterprise find an unstoppable force of terror from within their own organization, Captain Kirk leads a manhunt to a war-zone world to capture a one-man weapon of mass destruction  and this film unlike most sci-fi doesn’t feature a alien as the villain but a human which is unusual  of a film of this description

Another generic sci-fi film is aliens which is acclaimed as a staple of the genre which unlike star trek has a generic story: The planet from Alien has been colonized, but contact is lost. This time, the rescue team has impressive firepower, but will it be enough? This sets up an entire successful film franchise which has spawned games, comics, books and music.
